When I started thinking about this website, a friend suggested me to shape it in my mind as it was my house. With this image in my mind, I thought of the houses I saw in many countries of Northern Europe, often with big bright windows, without curtains, open day and night. They offer themselves, fearless, to the eyes. This website is a crossroads….a path to choose, every time. From Photography to Cinema... and back. My personal research has been, since the very beginning, directed towards black and white photography and fine-art print. The look, the cut, the choice of the framing has always been "a moment of cinema", never a decisive instant, but a time taken, a music break… "Anything before the shot is the basis for the picture coming to life". From that moment on, the look goes forward. Like a frame taken from a cinema sequence, it cuts past and future. Quando ho iniziato a pensare a questo sito un amico mi ha suggerito l'idea che sarebbe potuto essere un po' come la propria casa. Mi sono venute in mente quelle case che ho visto in molti paesi del nord Europa, quasi sempre con grandi finestre luminose, senza tende, che rimangono aperte giorno e notte. Senza timore si offrono libere allo sguardo. Questo sito si presenta come un bivio… un sentiero da scegliere, ogni volta. Dalla fotografia al cinema… e ritorno. Il mio percorso di ricerca è stato fin dall'inizio rivolto alla fotografia in bianco e nero e alla stampa fine-art. Lo sguardo, il taglio, la scelta dell'inquadratura è sempre stata "un momento di cinema", mai un solo istante decisivo, piuttosto un tempo preso, una pausa musicale… "Tutto ciò che c'è prima dello scatto è struttura per l'immagine che nasce". Da quel momento lo sguardo è rivolto in avanti. Come un fotogramma estrapolato da una sequenza cinematografica, cesura netta tra passato e futuro. Un ringraziamento particolare va ai miei due compagni di viaggio che hanno inventato questo sito con me, Alessio Morglia e Alessandro Ferraro. Filippo Trojano
